What Does A Chemical Peel Do

Question:

What are the results of a chemical face peel? I had bad acne for several years and I have finally cleared it up. The problem is that I dont have acne anymore, but it looks like I do because of the scars it left behind. When I feel my face, it feels smooth and I want my skin to look smooth. Does anyone know if a chemical peel would help reduce the appearance of my ance scars?

Answer:

Yes it will. If a Dermatologist does a TCA peel you will get the best results, even better than laser and Retin A from what Ive seen. The only drawback is that it is very invasive. You will have to stay out of the sun and wear SPF forever. The skin gets red and swollen and sheds in sheets until it heals. This is the fastest and most effective way for smoothing out the scars. If you cannot take off work, then a glycolic peel is much milder and toterable and you can return to work the next day or even within hours. But it will take longer and more treatments.
