Question: Chemical peel for body?
I was thinking of using a chemical peel to remove some scars on my legs. They arent deep or too big, but there are a lot and not very nice looking.
I just need some advice on what kind of chemical peels I can use. and what to look for when I am buying one (ie. concentration and etc)
I think I would need a stronger peel than ones used on the face...
Should I try the Smas facelift?
Answer: Chemical peels are not targeted to go deep into the layers of your skin. Many people forget that our skin is made up of four layers all ranging in thickness measured in nanometers. You may have been able to remove scars by laser treatment, but if they happened a while ago, then new layers of skin have developed over them. You may get some of the scars pigmentation to go away, but it will not completely go away. Body chemical peels are done in specialist plastic surgeon or dermatologist offices. It requires alot of skill, and if not done correctly, can cause scarring and loss of pigmentation in darker colored patients. As for the concentration, it is stronger since the skin on our face is much thinner, and more sensitive. I would suggest not getting a body peel, since it seem to have more cons then pros!!
