Microcurrent Facelift

Question:

Why is a face lift called plastic surgery if they don't use plastic? Can anyone explain this to me please? SHould this be the case of the Microcurrent facelift?

Answer:

Plastic surgery is a general term for operative manual and instrumental treatment which is performed for functional or aesthetic reasons. The word "plastic" derives from the Greek plastikos meaning to mold or to shape; its use here is not connected with modern plastics. Plastic surgery is basically slang for cosemetic surgery or the specific name of the surgery, such as rhinoplasty. Referring to a person not being whothey really are, or plastic. Because, in it's infancy, people who had cosmetic surgery looked like plastic dolls when they got done...they couldn't even smile or crinkle their nose or forehead. But the procedures have gotten so much better now, it's really a misnomer to call it that anymore.
