Lazy Eyelid Surgery
|
Question: I have a lazy eyelid. Is there a surgery to correct this?
My left eyelid doesn't open as far as my right. Is there someone out there who is able to fix this? How much would it cost?
Answer: There are doctors that specialize in oculo-plastic surgery. They are opthalmologists with additional training in plastic surgery. Some of them specialize in eyelid disorders. You will need to go to a regular opthalmologist for evaluation and referral.
Unless your visual fields are impaired this is considered cosmetic and not covered by insurance.
you would need to see an oculoplastic surgeon. It depends on the cause, but there are various techniques that can treat this that are not over expensive and although surgical, can be performed under a local anasesthetic with or without sedation
