Question: What is the christian's stand on cosmetic surgery?
let's say moreso with a child with a facial disfigurement,is that considered a sin to try to improve one's appearance?
Or should I try this at theInstitute Of Facial Surgery?
Answer: I believe that God doesn't make mistakes, meaning there is a reason for the child being born like that, at the same time I believe that God gave surgeons a gift to fix things. Going through life this day in age is hard enough, especially with a disfigurement. I don't think God would condemn anyone for trying to make themselves better, internally or externally. I don't believe that everyone who goes through plastic surgery needs it, but I do believe a child deserves a chance to live as normally as possible!!
I think in the case of a deformity, it is good...
But, what can be used for good, has also become something people use to advance their vanity.
Elective surgery seems wrong...when there are so many people who have to be operated on each day...with no choice but to undergo the knife....then someone who is just unhappy with crow's feet then has surgery...something seems twisted about that..
Likewise the gastric bypass stuff...do people really exercise and try to lose weight before going to such extremes?
