Facelift Recovery

Question:

There does not seem to be much information available on after surgery. All the sites I have found tell you what they will do before surgery and the the results of after. My question to anyone who has had a lower face lift, which includes the neck, how long do you feel it took for all the swelling to go down, and before you felt that you were "back to normal" as you were before the surgery. The information on every site I have checked says a couple of weeks, but I have a friend who is now going on the 8th week, and the Dr. tells her, that it will just take time. Comments please on total recovery time

Answer:

I understand the book "Welcome to Your Facelift" is very good and tells exactly what to expect from someone who went through it. My mother had a face-lift and her doc told her healing is different for everybody. In her case, she first went back out in public a little over two weeks afterwards. At about four weeks, she looked GREAT. Her doc also told her that first-time facelifts have more swelling. My mother said herswelling did not entirely go away for about three months; however, the bit that remained only made her look better, since the swelling smoothed out wrinkles!
