Chemical Peel Healing Time

Question:

Chemical Peel!!? I had a chemical peel at the suggest of a derm., but did not expect it to look so terrible afterwards. I have mild burns on the sensitive areas of my face and i look red and splotchy, yesterday my skin was leaking clear water from the burns. I cant afford to miss more days at school, but it is very obvious and still painful. Nobody warned me about this. Is this normal? What can i do to speed healing?

Answer:

I've had several chemical peels and they leave your skin red and blotchy for about a week. I never had water leaking and suggest you call your dermatologist today. Don't try to peel any of the skin off yourself, let it peel naturally, but give the derm a call. it's very normal. it will take a few days to heal. you must have signed papers informing you of what would happen. dont' do anything to it. follow the regime they told you. it will go down in a very short amount of time. and call the doctor, of course. this can happen if you go to a clinic. A home chemical peel gives great results without the burning and pain you are experiencing. I suggest using a moisturizer with vitamin c.
