Atlanta Oral Facial Surgery
|
Question: I was assaulted about 6 weeks ago, my jaw broke in 2 places. I had surgery the next day, it was out of network so I'm left with a $5000 medical bill....anyway, money is not a big deal, I can pay that off over the next 3 years just fine.....Anyway, I got the wires removed a few days ago (wired for 6 weeks)....and now my bite is off by about 1/8th of an inch. My right side of my teeth hit and when they are down and my left still have a huge gap, I had 8 years of braces when I was a kid and my teeth were perfect before the surgery...the doctor says it will fix itself but I highly doubt that..has anyone else had oral surgery and had their bite off by a little bit? ....I also lost all feeling in my lower jaw when I was told before the surgery I would have no nerve problems....My entire lower lip is numb...I'm guessing this is normal to cause nerve damage following a surgery like this?
Or should I try the Atlanta Oral Facial Surgery?
Answer: I have no idea about the jaw realigning, but I do know from my own personal surgery experiences that nerves can take up to a year to regenerate. Some feeling may never come back, but give it up to a year.
I've never had oral surgery before but i have had that bit of alignment situation from fillings on root canal work. i was also worried, fortunately they did return to normal after some time.
